Lighting Control for a Luxury Country Retreat
Fairmont Windsor Park is a shining example of how modern lighting control can enhance the guest experience across a wide range of spaces — calm, vibrant, elegant, and adaptable.
Located on the edge of Windsor Great Park and surrounded by 40 acres of landscaped gardens and a tranquil lake, Fairmont Windsor Park blends iconic heritage with modern elegance. The hotel offers a grand country house experience, complete with a world-class spa, multiple fine dining restaurants, and an 800m² pillar-free ballroom. Mode Lighting was selected to provide lighting control throughout the hotel’s front-of-house areas, working closely with Grove Developments and the Calma Group.
Our role was to deliver flexible, scalable control systems that suited the varied nature of the hotel’s spaces — from peaceful wellness areas to dynamic event venues — all while ensuring ease of use for staff. Using a combination of our Tiger and eDIN+ platforms, we delivered simple scene control, colour-changing DMX, and partition-aware control, tailored to each area.

Front of House
The hotel’s entrance, lounges, and reception areas are all fitted with Mode’s Tiger system using leading edge mains dimming. Scene keypads offer staff quick access to a range of presets, allowing them to adjust the lighting for different times of day and guest flows without needing technical expertise. The result is intuitive, consistent lighting that enhances the guest arrival experience.
Area Focus
Spa & Wellness
Part of the award-winning Fairmont Spa & Wellness, these areas required a lighting scheme that supported calm, restorative experiences. Using the Tiger control system and leading edge dimming, lighting scenes were programmed to suit a variety of wellness settings — from softly lit treatment rooms to low-level ambient lighting in the thermal areas.
In the Spin Studio, the lighting takes a more energetic turn. Here, Tiger is integrated with the audio system to enable sound-to-light functionality. Instructors can sync lighting effects with music, creating a high-energy, immersive environment that transforms the studio experience.

Ballroom
The 800m² pillar-free ballroom is one of the hotel’s most impressive features, capable of hosting up to 700 guests. To support its use as a flexible event space, we installed Mode’s eDIN+ control system with full DMX support for RGBW fixtures. A wall-mounted touchscreen interface enables real-time colour adjustment and scene selection, giving staff complete control during live events.
The space can be divided into smaller rooms using movable partitions, and the control system adapts accordingly, with each zone maintaining independent lighting settings. Whether used for a large banquet or split for breakout sessions, lighting remains perfectly suited to the room configuration.
Area Focus
Bars & Dining
Fairmont Windsor Park offers seven restaurants and bars, including the fine dining 1215 Restaurant and the elegant 1215 Bar. Tiger systems were used throughout these spaces, offering localised scene control that reflects the mood and character of each setting.
In 1215 Bar, scene keypads allow smooth transitions from daytime relaxation to evening cocktails, with lighting presets designed to complement the elegant surroundings.
In The Library Club, a space full of historic detail and cosy charm, lighting levels are carefully managed to highlight original features while maintaining a warm, intimate feel for meetings or late-night drinks.
